PORTRAITS IN THE ERA OF COVID-19 PROJECT
I've been a busy little bee photographing 80 of my neighbors since mid March in MIMO Miami, Miami Beach, and Miami Shores on their home’s front porch or through the front window of their home while we both are applying the current CDC approved guidelines for social distancing. I will be wrapping up photo shoots at the end of May 2020 once I hit my goal of 100 photo shoots.
I photograph from that safe distance outdoors using a longer zoom lens (Canon 70-200mm) creating an environmental portrait of you and your family or partner including the four legged furry ones. You will receive one photograph as my gift through a digital download and you are free to share and print while allowing me to create this work and share it on my website, social networks, media and in printed materials. I will use my judgment as an artist/portrait photographer and hand pick the best of the best for your final photograph and the project. This project has been featured on NBC6 News and The Wall Street Journal. See links below.
Recognition is especially meaningful during the COVID-19 pandemic honoring our frontline heroes on the annual National Doctor's Day on March 30, 2020 where we celebrated our doctors and nurses for the great work they do.
The gratitude we show is a constant reminder to them that they are making a difference — a difference they may not realize they are making while in the throes of overloaded hospitals and too few resources that have become all too common during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are our true heroes!
Sidewalk Chalk is used to spread joy amid the Covid-19 pandemic. People across the country are using simple sidewalk chalk to create uplifting new works of art, to express hope that this pandemic will soon be over, and to give thanks to health care workers and first responders. Countless more have shared their masterpieces on social media, using the hashtags #ChalkTheWalk, #ChalkYourWalk, and #bellemeadeshappythings as a growing number of states and cities order residents to stay at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
GOING ON A BEAR HUNT ?
As many parents are discovering, it’s not easy explaining to children why they are no longer able to go to school, the local library, or to play with friends at the park as well as finding things to keep the little ones busy to help kids pass time during the Covid-19 pandemic. So to beat the boredom in places where full lockdown measures are not yet imposed, one idea to keep kids occupied as they go for walks with their family has sprung up and gone viral. A Facebook page dedicated to sharing a variety of activities to do with children called Covid-19 Isolation Ideas also put a call out encouraging adults to participate in ‘going on a bear hunt’ with their kids. The photographs above are what I found on my "Bear Hunt."
Would You Like to Participate in this project?
I am looking for you, my neighbors in Miami/Miami Beach to see if you would like to be a part of this project. I have already photographed 80 families for this project and once I hit my goal of 100, I will be wrapping up photo shoots at the end of May 2020. This is entirely voluntary.
I am asking you to make a donation in any amount directly to "Feeding South Florida" in the name of this project on behalf of Tracey Hagen Photography.
I will capture the portraits while we are both being fully compliant with current CDC guidelines from the sidewalk while you and your family are safely on your front porch, front steps or, if you prefer, inside your home visible through a front door or front window. Totally up to you and whatever makes you feel most secure. You can make it fun with wearing hats, funny signs or a nice family shot. I just want it to be a photograph that you can have for the future when you are sharing your experience of Covid 19 quarantine to future generations. Feel free to dress in the way that you would like to be seen. There’s no right way for this project.
I will give you a link to download a high resolution image with my compliments and all I ask is that you would sign a model release so that I may share the photos on my social networks, media and on my website and perhaps create some type of fine art gallery exhibition, book or printed piece once we come on the other side of this pandemic. Anything is possible.
As the artist/photographer I will choose the final image to gift you for free and to include in this project. If you would like additional images or prints from your shoot, will be available to purchase at $97.00. There is no obligation to purchase additional images.
How does that sound? Do you have any questions?
Please note, due to the high volume of requests, I cannot guarantee I will be able to schedule your photo shoot but, I will certainly try my hardest.
***Please fill out the questionnaire below (your answers will be included with your photograph for the public to see) and model release. ***
